Teeth Bleaching / Whitening in Mesa AZ by Arizona Dental Service, Inc.
Dental teeth whitening is, quite simply put, professional teeth bleaching, which wipes the stains and yellow off your teeth and helps give you a Hollywood white smile. It has been around for some time now and is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures.
Teeth darkening, its causes, and remedies:
Teeth darken with age primarily because of changes in the mineral structure of teeth. However, dietary habits, tobacco, liquids consumed, dental hygiene maintained, etc. can also accelerate or decelerate the yellowing and staining. Smoking, chewing tobacco, bacteria, acidic, spicy food, medications, caffeine, darker beverages, etc. accelerates the procedure. Tooth enamel becomes less porous with time, which also accelerates the yellowing. Traditionally, dental teeth whitening materials like hydrogen peroxide would be used to bleach the darkened teeth.
Teeth Bleaching procedure:
Dental teeth whitening is performed the traditional way with hydrogen peroxide as well as with advanced dental procedures like internal bleaching to help rid your teeth of discoloration and stains. In traditional dental teeth bleaching, carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide are used as the bleaching agents. If the bleaching gel contains carbamide peroxide, it breaks down in the mouth to form hydrogen peroxide. Each tooth is fully and evenly exposed to the bleaching gel with the help of plastic trays. The more sophisticated internal bleaching procedures in professional teeth bleaching brighten teeth from the inside out. This procedure helps whiten the teeth by removing fluids and blood that may have crept in the teeth through micro-cavities.
Arizona Dental Service also offers the ZOOM II one hour bleaching service at a moderate price. Zoom II is an updated one hour bleaching system. The earlier Zoom I and other earlier systems were calibrated with a too intense light calibration which had in some patients caused nerve damage to some teeth. This has been corrected in all systems available today is is now a safe method for those who do not wish to go with traditional 7-10 day system.
